Uninsured Services

At our ultrasound clinic, we are committed to providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services. Most ultrasound exams are covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) when they are medically necessary and supported by a valid physician referral.

When services are considered uninsured

At our clinic, services are considered uninsured only when a patient’s OHIP coverage is expired, invalid, or not available at the time of the appointment.

This may include:

  • Expired OHIP card
  • Invalid or inactive OHIP coverage
  • Failure to present a valid OHIP card at the time of visit

What this means

If your OHIP is not valid on the day of your appointment:

  • The ultrasound exam will be considered uninsured
  • You will be required to pay for the service out of pocket at the time of your visit
  • A receipt will be provided

If your OHIP coverage is later confirmed or reinstated, you may be able to submit your receipt for reimbursement, depending on Ontario Health Insurance Plan policies.

Important reminder

To avoid charges, please ensure that:

  • Your OHIP card is valid and not expired
  • You bring your OHIP card to your appointment

Our commitment

We follow guidelines set by the Ontario Medical Association to ensure transparency and fairness in all billing practices.

If you are unsure about your OHIP status, we encourage you to verify your coverage before your appointment or contact our clinic for assistance.
